検証可能性 (仮説検定)

経験的仮説に適用される性質である検証可能性（英: Testability）は、以下の2つの要素から構成される。

1. 仮説に対する反証が論理的に可能であることを意味する反証可能性。
2. 反例が存在する場合、その反例を再現可能な形で観測することができるという現実的な実現可能性。

要するに、仮説の真偽を誰もが実験によって判断できる可能性があれば、その仮説は検証可能であるということである。これにより、ある理論がデータによって支持されるかどうかを判断することができる。しかし、実験データの解釈は決定的でなかったり、不確実な場合がある。
