アヴェテロポーダ類[2]（学名：Avetheropoda）あるいは鳥獣脚類（ちょうじゅうきゃくるい）[3]は、テタヌラ類に属する恐竜の一群である。冨田ほか (2020)では「鳥獣脚類」の訳語が推奨されている。
定義
アヴェテロポーダ類はグレゴリー・ポールにより1988年に命名され[4]、1997年にカリーとパディアンにより、アロサウルスと現生鳥類および彼らの最も近い共通祖先の他の子孫を含む系統群として、系統的に定義された。1999年、ポール・セレノはアロサウルス上科とコエルロサウルス類を含み(メガロサウルス上科)を含まない別の系統群をNeotetanuraeと命名した[5]が、この定義は僅かに遅れて公表された。
多くの論文においてアヴェテロポーダ類は単系統群とされる。しかし、アロサウルス類とコエルロサウルス類ではなく、アロサウルス上科とメガロサウルス上科を互いに近縁とする単系統のカルノサウルス類モデルも提唱されている[6]。
