人物
1934年台湾基隆市生まれ[1]。1958年九州大学農学部畜産学科卒業。久留米大学医学部助手を経て、九州大学農学部教授。センカクモグラの発見者の一人。九州大学時代はカヤネズミの研究をおこない、その著書『カヤネズミの四季 : カヤ原の空中建築家』(白石哲 & 白石久美子 1988)はカヤネズミに関する唯一の読み物であった。
