ボニーM（Boney M.）はドイツ出身のディスコバンドである。1970年代〜80年代に活動した。

ドイツのミュージシャン、(フランク・ファリアン)（英語版）が当初自身の変名としてプロデュースし、メンバーを集めた上、男声パートのボーカルも担当した。ドイツのバンドではあるがメンバーはすべて海外（中南米とアフリカ出身）から呼び集め、歌詞も英語だった。

デビュー曲にしてドイツで1位、イギリスでもトップ10に入った「(ダディクール)（英語版）」（のち、韓国のヒップホップグループDJ DOCが2000年にRun to youとしてアレンジし大ヒット。更にこれをDJ OZMAがアゲ♂アゲ♂EVERY☆騎士としてカヴァーし、これもヒットしている）、イギリスで2位となった「(怪僧ラスプーチン)（英語版）」が代表曲であり、他の代表曲に「(サニー)（英語版）」、「(バビロンの河)（英語版）」などがある。ドイツのみならず世界各国でヒットを飛ばし、ベストアルバム『マジック・オブ・ボニーM』はミリオンヒットを記録。「怪僧ラスプーチン」は、同じくドイツのディスコバンドジンギスカンがデビューするきっかけとなったことで知られる。

日本でも70年代末のディスコブームに乗って、「怪僧ラスプーチン」が大ヒットした。同曲は2007年に桜塚やっくんが日本語でカバーした。

補足

楽曲 (Bahama Mama)（英語版）を「バハマ音頭」と称して、日本の夏の盆踊りの中で利用している地域がある[1]。発祥は不明だが、神奈川県藤沢市・千葉県柏市、松戸市、流山市・東京都・長野県・大阪府大阪市などのそれぞれ限られた地域で確認されている、地域住民にとっては若い人が中心となって盛り上がる盆踊り恒例の曲として1980年代後半から親しまれている。
